Alan Burgess
Latitude founder, Alan Burgess, is a professional artist with 65 years of experience in ceramics and art education. He is a natural collaborator who loves working with people, helping them turn their creative ideas into tangible works of art. Known for being friendly and warm, Alan strives to make people feel welcome and supported in their creative pursuits. Artists who are interested in learning from Alan can sign up for mentorship or instructional hours.

Sara Burgess
For over twenty-five years, I have focused on cutting paper and creating objects for the home. My work combines craft with storytelling, reflecting my experiences and background. I invite viewers to explore the memories and experiences that inspire my creations.
Accommodation
Comfortable living quarters equipped with essential amenities to ensure a restful stay. We invite one to two residents at a time. The house has two large private bedrooms, each with king size beds, while kitchen and bathrooms are shared.
Mentorship
For those who desire technical instruction or creative mentorship, demonstrations and mentorship meetings are available for an additional fee.

Residency Period
Our residency runs year-round, offering flexible durations to suit your project needs. Artists may
apply for stays ranging from two to six weeks.
Friends and family stay are booked for a week at a time.
Application Process
To apply, please submit the following:
- A comprehensive artist statement detailing your work and artistic vision.
- A project proposal outlining your objectives for the residency.
- A current CV or resume.
- A portfolio of recent work (up to 10 pieces).
Application Deadline: Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, but we encourage early submissions for preferred dates.
